Apple’s technology standard iBeacons allows mobile apps to listen for signals from beacons in the physical world and react accordingly. It is projected that by the end of 2018, 3.5 million beacons will be installed by retailers globally. Beacons will enable retailers to track and understand customer’s purchase pattern. It is estimated that beacons will drive $ 44 billion in retail sales by end of 2016.
