Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg opened Facebook’s F8 developer conference the two-day event with a keynote on how we’re building a more privacy-focused social platform.  And giving people a place where they can express themselves and feel connected to other people and communities that matter most.

During the keynote, Mark Zuckerberg announced updates to Instagram, Facebook Messenger, and Facebook’s core service news about the Oculus Quest and Rift ‘s virtual reality headsets.

A major updated announced during F8 developer conference is the new design that will make your timeline more clutter-free. And users will find it easier to locate the things once the process is complete. The new timeline design has been rolled out in the US.  And it will be available soon on the mobile app. However, it will take a few months to upgrade the desktop version with the new look.

New Features in Groups

  • Redesigned Groups tab to make discovery easier: Facebook has completely redesigned the Groups tab and made the search even better. The tab now shows a personalized feed of activity across all your groups.
  • Making it easier to participate in Groups: Facebook has also made it easier to get relevant group recommendations like in Marketplace, You may see more content from your groups in News Feed. And, Can share the content directly to the groups from News Feed, the same way you do with friends and family.

Facebook Messenger with a new update:

Facebook will be upgrading its Messenger, the new updated messaging app to deliver a better experience to users. The app will become faster and will be under 30MB i.e. about 20 percent of its current size to take up less space on your phone. And if you’re using Messenger on desktop, Facebook is launching desktop apps for Mac and PC later this year.

Shipping on Marketplace

Marketplace will be getting a new option. This will allow the sellers to get the items shipped to any location within the continental US. The buyers will be able to make payments for the purchases they make on Facebook directly. With the new option coming in, the sellers can nominate their shipping and delivery details, which will get factored into the total listing cost.

A Way to Meet New Friends Dating Service on Facebook “Secret Crush

Facebook introduced a dating service at last year’s F8 Conference. And it introduced a feature called “Secret Crush,” Where you can create a secret list of Facebook friends you’re attracted to. If they’re also using Secret Crush feature, and they add you to their crush list, Facebook will notify the two of you that there’s a match.

AR/VR (Oculus Rift S and Oculus Quest)

Oculus Rift S and Oculus Quest are two new more user-friendly AR/VR headsets. Both Oculus Rift S and Oculus Quest headsets use computer vision technology Oculus Insight, which enables inside-out tracking via sensors built into the units, enabling users to navigate virtual and physical spaces in real-time.
